News about SS501 possibly coming to the Philippines have invaded Philippine news portals. I'm reposting this article published in Manila Bulletin website:

Another K-pop idol group may visit the Philippines soon.
Fangirlasia is currently negotiating to bring K-pop boy band SS501 to the Philippines for a fan meeting in July.
Triple S Philippines, the local fan club of SS501, has started accepting reservations from members for VIP seats that would cost P5,000 each.
Fangirlasia has also opened an event page on Facebook to know how many fans will be attending the event.
“We would like to remind everyone that this event is just a survey. We are still under negotiation. Date, time, and venue are tentative,” it said.
Since boy band SHINee visited the country in November last year, other K-pop groups followed suit.
This year, bands that have already held shows in the country are 4Minute, FT Island, U-Kiss and Super Junior.
Fangirlasia and Spin Manila brought boy band FT Island to the Philippines last March for the Manila 2010 Showcase held at the Philippine International Convention Center.
SS501 is a five-member boy band managed by DSP Entertainment that was launched in 2005. It is composed of leader Kim Hyun Joong, Kim Kyu Jong, Heo Young Saeng, Park Jung Min and Kim Hyung Joon.
Last year, SS501 held their first Asia Tour Persona that kicked off in Seoul and visited Tokyo, Taipei, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Bangkok.
Kim Hyun Joong, in particular, starred in the last year’s hit Korean drama series “Boys over Flowers,” which also became a top-rated program in the Philippines.
Last year, SS501 received the Bonsang and Hallyu awards in the Seoul Music Awards. The group also won the Best OST (official soundtrack) Award in the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) for “Because I’m Stupid,” which was used in “Boys over Flowers.” It also won the Top Buzz International Group in the Yahoo Buzz Award.
SS501 will be coming back to the K-pop music scene with a new album in May.

Thanks to Manila Bulletin for publishing this. I really think that with the right promotion, SS501 will take the nation by storm. Other KPOP artists have been successful here because of constant airing of their songs in MYX, promotion by their record labels, and the willingness of producers to take a chance on them. What's lacking with SS501 is that they aren't promoted well. MYX isn't even playing any of their songs, for one thing. Also, their songs are not promoted in radio stations. Kpop artists from Universal Records have been successful here because they are being promoted well. But SS501 (who is signed under Warner Music Philippines) isn't even promoted! I mean, what's up with that? Warner should take part in the promotion of their artists, don't you agree? I wish they would promote SS501!
If only SS501 would also be promoted in the Philippines, then all Filipinos will know what an amazing group they are! They already have a huge fanbase in the country as it is, what more with the right promotion! I mean, some are not even aware that their beloved Ji Hoo in Boys Over Flowers is the leader of SS501! So guys, if you're a Triple S, help promote them to your friends, families, colleagues and even to strangers! In our own little way, we can actually help to promote them, so that the whole nation would know how wonderful and talented and good looking our boys are! ^_^

501% true ate kate!... MYX could be a really big help if only they will play SS501 songs. They are one of the best and yet MYX only pays attention to those groups that has a big influence in music industry here in the Philippines. grrrrr... Politics already took over the Music Industry. darn.. Now that BOF is being aired again for the 3rd time now in Studio 23 (everyday @ 6:30 pm) I hope this will help a bit for promoting our boys considering Kim Hyun Joong is a part of that drama. aigoo...hope filipinos are aware of that..=((

It would be nice to be friends with local DJs -so the SS501 songs can be played on air. Or Triple S Philippines write local music producers (actually this is the job of DSP -why o why are they not lifting a finger helping out their own contact stars ? Why depend on the fans ? Ahhh,DSP is really zero when it comes to promotions and public relations -no wonder ,even kHJ was having a headache when they were trying to make a comeback .
Which TV channel is going to co-produce the fanmeeting ? ABS-CBN ,since they were the ones who bought the rights to air BOF in the Philippines ? They might be interested to bring in "Jihoo" in person together with SS501 .

We are still waiting for Warner's move. They should first give the Radio stations copies of the Boys' album because Radio stations and MYX won't be able to play their songs without proper permission from Warner Music Philippines. We've been bugging Warner for a year already but they're not as aggressive as Universal Records. Maybe if all of us will bug them, it would make a difference. - Ems (Staff, Triple S Philippines)
it's still not possible for our guy's song be included in myx.. because warner hasn't released other MV's of the boys except ASCFY.. maybe we should make a plea to Warner to release LLT? what do you think?

Oh gosh! I was really excited to hear about this piece of news! Ever since I discovered SS501 and got my friends hooked with them, we really wanted to see them here and feel Filipino "hospitality"..LOL...I really wish matuloy to..!
