It was reported that the interviewer will be one of CNN’s main anchors, Anna Core, who will be asking Kim Hyun Joong about the success of ‘Playful Kiss’, as well as his thoughts on acting alongside female lead, Jung So Min.
Additionally, Anna Core will be asking producer Song Byung Joon about his secret know-hows for successful productions. She will also seek informed answers from the Google Director about the impact of the special web episodes.
CNN became greatly interested in ‘Playful Kiss’, ever since the first Youtube special episode received over 520,000 views in just two days after its release.
As of the 5th, the first special episode has received 768,591 views, while the 2nd episode recorded 438,178 hits – totaling to a whopping 1,756,175 views in such a short span of time.
Even the comments replying to ‘Playful Kiss’ episodes alone reached over 3,400 posts. The comments aren’t just made by Korean fans either, as there have been numerous contributions in English, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, and French. Youtube has been collaborating with subbing community Viikii in order to respond to the demand of international fans by subbing in various languages.
Song Byung Joon stated, “We were able to realize through the comments and views of the special episodes that even content which is only aired in Korea gain an incredible amount of worldwide fans. It has been very helpful, being able to break the cultural barrier and communicate with, as well as listen to, the responses of our worldwide fans in real-time.”
Lee Wonji, the President of Google Korea, also expressed, “Youtube has become the #1 largest worldwide online video site where, for example, albums of famous Korean artists are revealed first. Many national broadcast producers have already gained interest in Youtube due to the success of ‘Playful Kiss’. Since Youtube will always be open for use, we hope that more national producers take advantage of this global platform.”
The interview will take place at an undisclosed location in Seoul on November 7th.

I was pretty excited to hear this! Living in U.S. this show is how I was introduced to Korean culture and now I'm fascinated by it and hooked on SS501!
That is why you have to have a great agency to handle your job even you did not do your job well. Sorry. Don't hate me. I just tell the true. The drama was not popular in Korea. It had less than 3-6% rating. However, KHJ's popularity gained lots of attention oversea. The main actress was not good. However, the press news made it sound as a great drama. Good media made a good impact and influence. I think our YS and KJ signed a bad company because they did not have a press conference for contract signing as JM and did not have a fans birthday party for YS just as our HJ baby. And their first fans meeting is scheduled on December!!!

I'm Australian and I've watched the whole series of playful kiss and i agree it's not very strong, character and storyline wise. I've been in love with Kim Hyun Joong since Boys over flowers & it's alot better than playful kiss, i feel like the only fan in Australia of korean tv! haha
and now i'm in love with SS501 ...come do a show in Sydney for me! =)
We are all entitled to our opinions but I disagree with everyone going against the story of Playful Kiss and your understanding of the ratings too narrow and lacks in better research. This is my objective analysis of the ratings because it is actually what is happening in our country and in Korea. Our TV series in our country are more popular in Korea too which is seem to be the other way around. Most of us prefer here series which make us feel good and giddy^^ Two actresses really very good got recognized and got acting awards there. Koreans prefer our dramas which are full of vendettas and neverending schemes and conflicts which on the other hand we already find very unrealistic or very predictable. Although again I say we have a lot of good actors and actresses which are recognized in other countries especially if these countries liked our drama. Regarding BOF, I believe the story is also very predictable for a TV series, I have seen TV series similar to that which have better story lines. If you prefer that over PK you are only mesmerized by F4. If Playful Kiss has F4, I am sure you will like PK too which I find very shallow. You are definitely haters of KHJ, I wonder why you watched the drama. I am not a LMH anti but I hated Personal Taste because of the story and the tandem. I will not be surprised if you will like PT then only because of LMH^^
Oh my goodness, Playful was sold to 12 countries sometime in 15 Sept when we were still waiting for that kiss in the wall scene in EP 6. I was so overwhelmed when I read this.

I am sure these countries who bought the rights based on their decision on a survey of an agency who got the no. of fans per country of origin, viewing the episodes at either MBC fanpage, viikii or soju and youtubes. And based on of blog visits, majority come also from the US, Phils and other Asean countries^^

Plus making me reminisce of first relationships, first kisses, first boyfriends etc. Lifes choices which SeungJo and HaNi underwent gave me inner strength to take more risks. SeungJo reminds me to wake up early and take showers before sleeping...even these small reminders hahaha Playful is just so elegant, has great HD quality(I look forward to getting my own DVD copy and watch in my Full HD LED TV)and with so many clothing sponsors like MVIO, Customellow, K-Swiss, Adidas, Fred Perry and so many others for Leader. Hazy Accessories for HaNis bags, and that black dress with the brown trench coat she wore at the last scene, the red jacket HaNi wore at JeJu Island, the red trench coat HaNi wore at the musical, the peach red blazer jacket HaNi wore at that interview...I want to have all of those^^The cars that BaekSeungJo drives like the BMW and the MINI black car so elegant too(I want a convertible too), the sceneries of the location scenes, the noodle shop, the studio sets with appliances that really work^^ All of the cast fit into their roles very well. I love EunJo, Omoni-the Mom, MinAh and JuRi and the oppas very much. And Leader is so generous to all the staff and cast. Leader treated them all to dinner after the finale event and gave the proceeds of the finale event to charity. He never forgets his fans as Leader always organizes a finale event. I love also watching that video showing all the messages from the fans who attended the finale event and Leader's message also followed which felt so warm. Who else could do that but Leader will think of a finale event but Leader. That is why Leader is well loved. There are still so many things to say about Leader and Playful Kiss. But one thing is sure I will always support Leader forever!!!^^
I just love "playful kiss" even though the storyline may be predictable. However it contains scenes that make us smile and laugh which is what makes it a good show. Also, having Kim Hyun Joong as the main male protagonist adds hotness and flavor to the show :)

I like Playful Kiss despite its simple storyline cuz it reminded me of my high school days. Besides admiring Hyun Joong since BOF he really portrayed the real genius HS boy who doesn't care with people in school in this drama.
